While I fell in love for the first time on a dating app, it was not the preferred way I would have wanted to meet my partner. If you’ve been following my story at all, you would know that isn’t how my current relationship came to be. Since it’s National Matchmaker Day, I wanted to show a little appreciation for my friend and matchmaker, Alex.

There has been an itch that I have not been able to scratch since this pandemic started, and it was the itch to get out and travel to places. That being said, I was very fortunate that my boyfriend’s family picked to go to Las Vegas for this trip, because there is more to do than just party the night away and then go into gambling debt during the day. I’ve been taking on a large workload because we’re short staffed at work, but since we’re expecting some new people to come in, I should be working less soon. Life Is Too Short to Not Eat What You Want

My boyfriend has this joke where the only time I’m not talking is when I’m eating. Then when someone asked him for advice in getting a girlfriend, his answer was something along the lines of, “You play with her hair and you give her ice cream. Then she realizes that she might like you as much as she likes ice cream and then you go from there.” That might not have been an exact quote, but my point in telling all this is that I really love and appreciate food

What I’ve Checked Out From the Library

I love books, and I actually used to be a real snob about going to the bookstore and owning my books. The thing about library books is that they would never be mine, because I would always have to borrow it and return it. However, I did have a library card, and I still have it to this day. Since I’m trying to save my money during tax season, and it’s National Library Week, I thought I would take the time to visit my local library and see how its doing. Let’s Laugh with a Whole Heart

To this day, I’m very guarded about when I really laugh. If I’m in public, or with people I whose opinion I value, I will typically smile at the things that I find funny, or if everyone around me is laughing, I’ll let out a very controlled “ha-ha” so that I don’t stand out too much. With how forced the latter sounds, I’m surprised that it doesn’t draw more attention to me. It doesn’t feel natural.

My Valentine’s Day Weekend Surprise

We were in bed watching Tayshia’s season of The Bachelorette together. It was one of the few times my boyfriend was going to endure watching terrible television with me. She was on her one-on-one date with Brendan, and they were riding around LaQuinta on horseback. In that moment, I said, “You know, when I was in seventh grade, I asked my parents for horseback riding lessons for my birthday. My dad said yes, but my mom said no because she thought that it was something that boys do and thought that I would get hurt.” I think that’s where he got the idea for my surprise Valentine’s Day date.
