5 Books I’m Reading During Black History Month

For me, being an ally and supporting the black lives matter movement is more than just talking about it and posting a black box to my Instagram feed. There’s work to be done, and I want to continue to grow as a person by continuing to educate myself and putting action to my words while showing my support. That’s why I made sure to take the time this month to support black authors and educating myself with the following books.

My Valentine’s Day Weekend Surprise

We were in bed watching Tayshia’s season of The Bachelorette together. It was one of the few times my boyfriend was going to endure watching terrible television with me. She was on her one-on-one date with Brendan, and they were riding around LaQuinta on horseback. In that moment, I said, “You know, when I was in seventh grade, I asked my parents for horseback riding lessons for my birthday. My dad said yes, but my mom said no because she thought that it was something that boys do and thought that I would get hurt.” I think that’s where he got the idea for my surprise Valentine’s Day date.

While I know that the energy and rough times that encompass my 2021 won’t just go away, I am happy to spend time with my family and have something to look forward to.This particular new year is exciting because it is the year of the Ox, and that happens to be my Zodiac sign. What does that mean? What does that say about me? I’d love to discuss it further.

What My Hobbies Say About Me

I’m truly blessed to have the privilege of starting a new job right after graduation. One of the questions that I was asked while in the interview was, “What are some hobbies you do in your free time?” While I’m pretty sure my answer to this question is not the reason I got that job, I wanted to focus on it since this month is National Hobby Month.

4 Green Flags Found In My Boyfriend

So yesterday was National Boyfriend Day, and I’m so grateful to have the wonderful boyfriend that I do. I’m willing to talk about him all day long, and I can do it with a smile on my face. Today’s blog post is inspired by this week’s The LadyGang: Quickie, where Keltie, Jac, and Becca all talk about the green flags in their relationships. It’s definitely more positive than red flags, so I thought I would do my own take on the matter.

I’ve Been Nominated for the Sunshine Blogger Awards!

I’m slowly getting back into the groove after enjoying a long weekend, and I think being nominated for something is a great way to go into a Tuesday with a smile. Someone recently nominated me for the Sunshine Blogger Award, and if I’m being honest, I don’t know how to describe how I’m feeling. Being nominated for this award kind of reminds me that I already chose to put myself out here, in the blogging world.

It’s also so easy to slip into the mindset of how this birthday is so different from all of my other birthdays. Anyway, in honor of turning 23, today’s blog post is a list of 23 things I want to do once quarantine is over.

3 Things I’m Leaving Behind This Year

Day 14, which means that, in addition to finishing this blog challenge, I’m starting a new year in my life. While I won’t be able to really go out and celebrate, I can still use this time to set my intentions and think about what I want and what I don’t in this coming year in my life. For today’s blog, I wanted to share the things that I don’t want to bring with me in this coming year of my life.

30 Little Things of My Heritage That I’m Proud Of

Something fun about May is that it is Asian Pacific American Heritage Month, which is something to add to the long list of things that I get to celebrate at this time of year. While I initially wanted to talk all about why I value my heritage and how it’s contributed to the person I am, I thought I would keep it more lighthearted and fun since we’re halfway through the week. There’s a graphic going around Instagram created by the user @procrastin.azn, and it’s titled “30 Days of API Pride.” Instead of doing 30 days, I thought I would just answer them all for day 13 of my blogging challenge today.
