The idea here is that I was playing with all the summaries and parts of my week, playing off of the sum of all the parts saying. The parts will be recapping things I’ve done on different corners of the internet, and the sums are different things I’m turning over in my brain. Maybe we will like it enough to continue doing it here, or maybe it will shift and change into something else somewhere else.

5 Things I’m Giving Away on Instagram for Memorial Day

After looking at this blog title, I have realized that giving away 5 things instead of 6 is pretty off-brand for me. The truth is that I was so excited about this giveaway that I wasn’t really thinking about the numbers, and I will have to remember that in the future.

This week, I am going to turn 28. I don’t really know what to say about it that I haven’t said before when it comes to my birthday. I don’t know if I can claim to dread it, but I’m not necessarily excited about it either. It seems to be another day on the calendar, which leads me to wondering if this is what transitioning into adulthood is?

Maybe this is what it is like to feel like I’m coasting? I’m not sure, but in an attempt to focus on the positive things, I thought I would share some of my favorite things today. A Graduation Weekend (Not Mine)

This semester has kept me busy, but not busy enough to graduate a full year early. Maybe you can tell by how little I’ve written, but this semester has been a long list of to-dos and deadlines. Between developing my thesis proposal and trying to make sure that I can keep the lights on in my apartment, I am still playing catch-up on my sleep well into summer.

And I know that it is truly summer, because now my sisters are out of school. Kimmy has wrapped up seventh grade, and Jasmine has finished high school. We didn’t think we would make it to this day, but we definitely made a lovely weekend out of it. Keep reading to see what our celebratory weekend looked like.

The Weekend of Being a Supportive Girlfriend

Maybe you can tell from what I write/how bad I am at regularly making sure I am posting, but I can very easily get caught up in my work and doing what I have to do. However, on this particular weekend I decided to stay in town instead of going home since Asanti just came home.

Hindsight says that I made a good decision, but maybe you’ll read on and then tell me you think I’m wrong. Anyway, here is my weekend recap of being a supportive girlfriend.

The Weekend That Weakened Me

I feel like no one ever plans to get sick, but getting sick this past weekend put a damper on my spirit. Why? Because I was in a city that has always been on my bucketlist. It’s the country music capital, Nashville, Tennessee, baby. While I didn’t really go out to any honky-tonks, I was very happy to be able to take in the energy of the city in my short time there.

My Well-Balanced Weekend

It’s not often that I get a weekend where it’s nicely balanced, one that is equal parts work, socializing, and resting. Either I work or do homework for most of the weekend, or I worked all week so that I could have a completely fun weekend, just like the one I had last weekend. My Very Nice Weekend

It seemed like a much-deserved holiday weekend for me, because I have been laboring my days away since the week before school started. But now I’m back, and while I also spent the weekend doing homework, I also had some fun. Of course, hard work is important, because I don’t live to work, I’m working to live.
