Spooky Stories: Cyberstalking My Exes

I recently started watching The Bold Type. I thought it might be fun to take some writing prompts from the show and write them from my perspective. So in the first episode, Jane has her first writing assignment, and she accidentally pitches herself to write about trying to stalk an ex who doesn’t have social media. I’m pretty sure that all my exes have social media, but I haven’t checked in. Is it worth it? I guess we’re going to find out.

Appreciation Post for My Matchmaker

Let’s Laugh with a Whole Heart

To this day, I’m very guarded about when I really laugh. If I’m in public, or with people I whose opinion I value, I will typically smile at the things that I find funny, or if everyone around me is laughing, I’ll let out a very controlled “ha-ha” so that I don’t stand out too much. My Valentine’s Day Weekend Surprise

We were in bed watching Tayshia’s season of The Bachelorette together. It was one of the few times my boyfriend was going to endure watching terrible television with me. She was on her one-on-one date with Brendan, and they were riding around LaQuinta on horseback. In that moment, I said, “You know, when I was in seventh grade, I asked my parents for horseback riding lessons for my birthday. My dad said yes, but my mom said no because she thought that it was something that boys do and thought that I would get hurt.” I think that’s where he got the idea for my surprise Valentine’s Day date.

Why Your Mother-Daughter Relationship Doesn’t Need to Be Perfect

Since today is Mother’s Day and day 10 of my blogging challenge, I am going to open up and get really personal with you today. The truth is that no one’s life is imperfect, and if you were to ask me about the imperfect parts of my life, I would say it’s my relationship with my mom. And that’s okay. If you want to know why, keep reading.
