Life Is Too Short to Not Eat What You Want

My boyfriend has this joke where the only time I’m not talking is when I’m eating. Then when someone asked him for advice in getting a girlfriend, his answer was something along the lines of, “You play with her hair and you give her ice cream. Then she realizes that she might like you as much as she likes ice cream and then you go from there.” That might not have been an exact quote, but my point in telling all this is that I really love and appreciate food

My Valentine’s Day Weekend Surprise

We were in bed watching Tayshia’s season of The Bachelorette together. It was one of the few times my boyfriend was going to endure watching terrible television with me. She was on her one-on-one date with Brendan, and they were riding around LaQuinta on horseback. In that moment, I said, “You know, when I was in seventh grade, I asked my parents for horseback riding lessons for my birthday. My dad said yes, but my mom said no because she thought that it was something that boys do and thought that I would get hurt.” I think that’s where he got the idea for my surprise Valentine’s Day date.

What My Hobbies Say About Me

I’m truly blessed to have the privilege of starting a new job right after graduation. One of the questions that I was asked while in the interview was, “What are some hobbies you do in your free time?” While I’m pretty sure my answer to this question is not the reason I got that job, I wanted to focus on it since this month is National Hobby Month.

My Highs and Lows of 2020

Cheers too 2021! As I settle into the year, I’ve been reflecting on 2020. While it was a wild ride (I’m trying to refrain from saying unprecedented times, but wild ride doesn’t seem to work either), I have to say that this period has proved to be a time of patience, growth, and learning. Maybe I say that as someone who has the privilege that I do, but I truly believe that you can’t experience the highs without the lows. Since today is National Eat What You Want Day, I thought we would do some more dreaming together. I’m going to start a new diet in a week, and so I am going to plan a menu out for my last meal before I die. I love food, but not I’m not an expert. The result is that I haven’t listed anything fancy, except for the fact that it fill be a 12-course affair. That way, I can have all the desires of my heart.
