It seemed like a much-deserved holiday weekend for me, because I have been laboring my days away since the week before school started. But now I’m back, and while I also spent the weekend doing homework, I also had some fun. Of course, hard work is important, because I don’t live to work, I’m working to live. So enjoy reading about what I worked for this past weekend.Read More
So what I really wanted to do for this blog post was share a summer playlist, but the summer is slowly coming to an end since I start grad school next week. Plus, the truth is that I have had this album on repeat since it came out, so even if I were to curate a playlist now, it would probably incorporate all the songs on this album anyway.
At the end of the day, I have been a fan of Sabrina Carpenter since she was on Girl Meets World. I’m a fan of her, her music, and her acting career. She’s been a guest on my favorite podcast, and Sabrina was the first concert that I took my babysister to. So when Olivia Rodrigo dropped “Driver’s License” and her album, the Sabrina fan in me did not want to support her music at all. Not that she needed me to, since everyone knows who Olivia Rodrigo is now.
Since then, Sabrina has been pretty quiet and low-key. Sure, there has been a song here and there, but for the most part, this album has been the first time we’ve really heard from Sabrina since everything happened. So of course, I can’t wait to dissect it, and that is going to be the blog today.Read More
So my boyfriend had another wisdom tooth removed before the weekend started, and I believe that this is the last one. The loving, doting girlfriend that I am, I took the weekend off of work to make sure that he was going to be okay. If you’re reading this, it is probably obvious that we both survived the weekend, and if you’re interested in seeing how, you can keep reading.Read More
To continue my rabbit hole through books of contemporary romance, I recently finished The Love Hypothesis by Ali Hazelwood. I bought it the day before my birthday, and I was trying to read it little by little to draw it out, but I found that I couldn’t resist reading it. Spoiler alert: That’s until I got about halfway through and Adam overheard Olive talking to Malcolm inside the Starbucks on campus, and the conversation Olive had with Adam after made me want to throw the book across the room. My friends all convinced me to finish it though, and it was pretty cute. I would give it 4/5 stars, overall. Anyway, today’s blog is inspired by the books. Each of the chapters has a hypothesis that Olive makes about love and her love life, which kind of foreshadows what happens in each chapter. So for today, I thought I would come up with a few love hypotheses of my own.Read More
You would think that once you graduate high school, you kind of leave it behind you. That’s not the case for me; I feel as though I came into who I was in high school, making it a pivotal time in my life, and some of the really important relationships that I have in my life started in high school. The thing that inspires this blog post? My close relationship with my sister, who was recently asked to prom. It made me happy to hear that she had been asked, even though she has no intention of going. I’m going to assume that she would rather spend the night with me, but I have always been the girl who looked for any excuse to dress up and go get something delicious to eat. For today’s blog post, I wanted to reflect on my prom experience.Read More
Happy St. Patrick’s Day! I am off to St. Augustine for the day with family as you read this, so I thought I would reflect on my first trip to St. Augustine to celebrate the occasion. While the standard Florida kid went to St. Augustine in fourth grade, I passed on it because money was tight. But it worked out for the better, because I got to take my boyfriend on a surprise date around the city, so keep reading for the highlights of our little getaway.Read More
Am I cool enough to be in Vogue? Probably not. Neither am I ambitious enough to answer these questions on camera in one shot because I’m not so great on camera. What I am going to do is answer these questions and give you some more insight into the person that I am, which is probably sunshine in a little nerd. Even though I’ve tried to break it up into consumable chunks, I can’t promise that my answers will be nice and concise, but they should give you some insight into who I am and what matters to me.Read More
We were in bed watching Tayshia’s season of The Bachelorette together. It was one of the few times my boyfriend was going to endure watching terrible television with me. She was on her one-on-one date with Brendan, and they were riding around LaQuinta on horseback. In that moment, I said, “You know, when I was in seventh grade, I asked my parents for horseback riding lessons for my birthday. My dad said yes, but my mom said no because she thought that it was something that boys do and thought that I would get hurt.” I think that’s where he got the idea for my surprise Valentine’s Day date.Read More
