The Weekend Where I Still Have Some Hula Hoop Skills

It’s one of those rare weekends where I worked, but I didn’t work on Sunday. With how my schedule worked out, I was lucky to be able to spend some time with some girl friends and my boyfriend. Keep reading to learn about my themed weekend that had me wanting to watch Scooby-Doo all weekend long.

Why The Bold Type Stands Out

I’m probably late to the party, but I just finished watching all of The Bold Type. It is a show that really stands out in my mind, and I find that it was so refreshing, comfortable, and pleasing to watch that I can’t bring myself to start another television show. At this point in time, I feel like nothing can measure up to the feeling that The Bold Type gives me when I’m watching, so I am avoiding the idea of starting something new.

Fashion Inspo: Whoo Done It?

I’m never going to claim to be a fashionable girly, but when inspiration hits, it hits hard. While it isn’t always a nail on the head, you always have to appreciate what you get when you get it. The story goes that in the face of all my recent moving and unpacking, I came across a hat that inspired a whole outfit.

The Quiet Weekend of Nursing and Working

No weekend blog last week, because all I did was work. This weekend wasn’t too different, but it was more interesting than the last. Before it even started, my boyfriend got one of his wisdom teeth removed, so I was pretty much playing nurse to him. Luckily, all my friends are nurses, so I had some backup if anything went wrong.

Predictions and Discussions for Where the Crawdads Sing

So tonight, the Where the Crawdads Sing movie officially drops to the public, and I have to say that this all happened very fast in my mind. I remember reading the book in 2021 and really appreciating the complexity of people and emotions, and I did not expect the book to become a movie. When I heard the news this past March, I remember wondering how well the book would translate to screen.

The July 4th Weekend of Meeting with Movers

I started out this weekend tired, because for me, this weekend started early, and not just because of the holiday weekend. Although, it might be said that my weekend ended earlier because of the holiday, because I ended up working. While I also spent the Fourth of July comforting my dog, I’m pleased to report that I can go into my week well-rested and content.

Tampa Time in June 2022

So this weekend wrap-up is coming a little later than I expected, because I needed Monday to recover. Why? Instead of having a whole weekend in Tampa like I originally intended, I ended up traveling back and forth all in one day. Other than that, the weekend was pretty uneventful, but if you want to know all about it, you should keep reading. You might just read about how I react when I meet someone I consider famous.

My First Weekend Wrap-Up

When I hop on this blog, I sometimes find that I struggle to find a topic that I want to write about. To simplify things going forward, I am considering reflecting on the weekend and sharing what I did. This is a lifestyle blog, after all. However, the issue might arise in the scenario when I work the weekends, because then the weekend wrap-up might not be so interesting. This is summer time though, so maybe things will be different and more interesting. Since I did end up having a fun and busy weekend, I thought this would be the week to try writing about it. Keep reading so that, when you reach the end, you can leave me a comment telling me if you have had fun living through the weekend with me, or if this was a summer snooze fest for you.

My Love Hypotheses

To continue my rabbit hole through books of contemporary romance, I recently finished The Love Hypothesis by Ali Hazelwood. I bought it the day before my birthday, and I was trying to read it little by little to draw it out, but I found that I couldn’t resist reading it. Spoiler alert: That’s until I got about halfway through and Adam overheard Olive talking to Malcolm inside the Starbucks on campus, and the conversation Olive had with Adam after made me want to throw the book across the room. My friends all convinced me to finish it though, and it was pretty cute. I would give it 4/5 stars, overall. Anyway, today’s blog is inspired by the books. Each of the chapters has a hypothesis that Olive makes about love and her love life, which kind of foreshadows what happens in each chapter. So for today, I thought I would come up with a few love hypotheses of my own.

A Letter To My High School Self

Graduation season is in full swing, and I’m so excited to say that I am going back to college! I’m going back to the University of Central Florida to earn a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing this coming fall. It is everything that I have secretly/not so secretly wanted, and I am so happy to have this feeling of obtaining so much at twenty-five. To honor my accomplishments and celebrate how far I’ve come, I thought I would take the time to write a letter to my high school self. Nothing played out according to the life plan I designed, and I have to say that it worked out for the best because I’m so happy with where I’m at today. Keep reading to learn what I would tell myself back then.
