Wow, this semester took the breath out of me. I’ve finished my first semester of graduate school! While it took the wind out of my sails up until the very end, the second I crossed the finish line, I danced around my apartment celebrating my success. And I’m happy to report that I aced it.
This past weekend, I have taken the time to come back home, and that is where I am spending my time for a bit. I don’t think I see my grandma enough, and we’re coming up on her birthday soon, so I’m soaking up all of her energy while I’m home. My weekend included this and more, so keep reading if you want to find out.
A Fresh and Friendly Friday
Going into it, I have to confess that I didn’t get a lot of sleep. My sleep schedule has been a bit scrambled in trying to complete my final projects, so I’m still trying to readjust into a normal sleep schedule. I had fallen asleep on Thursday evening around 8 PM, and then I woke up around 2 AM Friday. Unable to go back to sleep, I ended up watching the Gudetama: An Eggcellent Adventure series on Netflix until I had to drop Asanti off at the airport.
I do recommend the series, because it is very cute and wholesome. However, I would watch it in Japanese with English subtitles, because I found that the English voices were grating my ears. When I got back, I had no problem falling back asleep.
Although, I couldn’t really sleep in that day; I had plans to meet up with a friend who was in town for winter break, and we were getting breakfast. And there was no way I was missing it–it has been too long since we’ve seen each other, and Se7en Bites is too delicious an opportunity to miss.
After that, I went home, where I was surprised by my sisters also being home. I guess I shouldn’t have been, since they’re on winter break, but somehow it seems early. Maybe I’ve just been so involved in school, but the holiday season hasn’t quite hit me yet. It makes me wonder if I’ve become a Scrouge…
A Saturday Filled with Sleep
After the restless night before, I slept in on Saturday, seemingly to stay on the same wavelength as Gudetama. I hung out with my sisters and grandma at home, went shopping for a little bit, and really we just had some family time together. Nothing to really report on. I was on them like Gudetama on rice.
Another Working Sunday
I would love to say that my weekend wrapped up in a relaxing way, but I went to work Sunday after walking Damian in the morning. Another day, another dollar it seems, and while it is getting closer to the holidays, it doesn’t feel much different than yesterday.
I’m also going to say that while it seems like it, this was not a sponsored post. I have just always loved Gudetama, and I didn’t mind that it was my vibe for the weekend. But if Netflix or Sanrio are interested in sponsoring me or just sending me stuff, my inbox is open.
Are you feeling the holiday spirit? How did you spend your weekend? Have you completed your holiday shopping yet? I would love to know in the comments below!
