28 of My Favorite Things

This week, I am going to turn 28. I don’t really know what to say about it that I haven’t said before when it comes to my birthday. I don’t know if I can claim to dread it, but I’m not necessarily excited about it either. It seems to be another day on the calendar, which leads me to wondering if this is what transitioning into adulthood is?

Maybe this is what it is like to feel like I’m coasting? I’m not sure, but in an attempt to focus on the positive things, I thought I would share some of my favorite things today. Since I am turning 28, that is the length of this list, so if this is your first time here, this is a good opportunity to get to know me

Trying to Pull Together My Life List

While I would say that I am pretty content with my life, finishing The Life List Netflix movie did make me think about the child-version of me and whether she would be happy with where I’m at now. It was hard to reconnect with my inner child, because I think that I have consciously and unconsciously worked to try and hide those urges away where the light doesn’t shine. So while I was able to pull together this list today, I imagine that it isn’t full and complete to the little girl I once was, and maybe that’s okay. Maybe I’ll meet her again one day and ask her.

My Review of Netflix’s The Crown

Most recently, my fiancé and I finished watching Peter Morgan’s The Crown. It isn’t often that we have a show that we both enjoy, so it was sad for us to have this show come to an end.

What My Lazy Day Looks Like

While today is National Lazy Day, I am probably not having a lazy day right now. If you’re reading this, I am probably at orientation for graduate school, because that is what I have on the schedule bright and early today. But for today’s post, let’s pretend that I am having a lazy day and what that would look like for me. You know, if I could’ve had one today.

Kaguya-sama: Love Is War

Grad school starts for me in less than a week, so I am in full back-to-school mode. That means that I am stocking up on supplies, loading up on sleep, and doing my best to enjoy my free-time while I have it. It’s part of the reason that I kind of dropped off the face of the earth this past week; I’ve been a bit busy. But today is Friday, so I want to share something that I truly have enjoyed watching. Recently, my sister and I finished watching the anime Kaguya-sama: Love Is War? and I wanted to share my thoughts. If you’re looking for a new anime to watch and you enjoy a romantic comedy as much as I do, you’re going to want to keep reading.

Why The Bold Type Stands Out

I’m probably late to the party, but I just finished watching all of The Bold Type. It is a show that really stands out in my mind, and I find that it was so refreshing, comfortable, and pleasing to watch that I can’t bring myself to start another television show. At this point in time, I feel like nothing can measure up to the feeling that The Bold Type gives me when I’m watching, so I am avoiding the idea of starting something new.

Analyzing Coriolanus Snow’s Character Consistency After The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes

The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes also gives us some insight into how Snow thinks, what has influenced him, and possible causes of what led him to become the man we know him to be in The Hunger Games. After reading the book, I thought that it would be interesting to revisit the movies and see how his character compares to what I read, or how it might have evolved since then.
