There was a rumor that TikTok would be banned in the United States, but TikTok is still around and I will give it credit for finding the idea for this blog post from there. Specifically, my sister Kimmy did a TikTok post consisting of a photo of her from each month with text of a lesson she learned in the corresponding month. It was so cute that I wanted to do it too, but I also feel like I’m learning so much all the time. It would be hard for me just pick one lesson to share for each month.

My New Things of 2025

While everyone has had been reflecting on how to make this year the best one they’re going to have, I have been working on ushering in the new things in my life. Since I have to get back to it all, I just wanted to spend time quickly touching base today on the exciting things the future has in store for me.

The Weekend Where I’m a Mastermind

So it takes longer than a weekend to obtain a Master’s degree (for me, it took two years). But this weekend was the one where I officially got to call myself a Master of something, because this was the weekend I graduated. Of course, the internet is for bragging, so here I am, sharing it with you all. (And yes, the title is a Taylor Swift reference, but I will say I did not come up with it; I saw it on a fellow grad’s cap and thought it was brilliant.)

My 3 Favorite Things of 2023

Is this a late blog post? I wouldn’t say so, if you take into consideration that I just finished celebrating Vietnamese New Year. But maybe if you’re looking at it from the aspect of we’re near the end of February, then I would get it, but I’m going to reflect now anyway. Maybe there is a part of me that feels it’s easier to look backward right now than to focus on the present. There is a lot going on right now.

A Graduation Weekend (Not Mine)

This semester has kept me busy, but not busy enough to graduate a full year early. Maybe you can tell by how little I’ve written, but this semester has been a long list of to-dos and deadlines. Between developing my thesis proposal and trying to make sure that I can keep the lights on in my apartment, I am still playing catch-up on my sleep well into summer.

And I know that it is truly summer, because now my sisters are out of school. Kimmy has wrapped up seventh grade, and Jasmine has finished high school. We didn’t think we would make it to this day, but we definitely made a lovely weekend out of it. Keep reading to see what our celebratory weekend looked like.

Reflecting on 25

I’ve made it another year around the sun. It isn’t a crazy thought, but I’ve had such a great year. The crazy thought is that it will continue to get better, year after year. Since my word for 2023 is relax (I’m still working on it), instead of setting goals and intentions for this coming year, this blog post is going to highlight five things that happened that made 25 so good.

An Egg-cellent Weekend of Breathing

This past weekend, I have taken the time to come back home, and that is where I am spending my time for a bit. I don’t think I see my grandma enough, and we’re coming up on her birthday soon, so I’m soaking up all of her energy while I’m home. It seemed like a much-deserved holiday weekend for me, because I have been laboring my days away since the week before school started. But now I’m back, and while I also spent the weekend doing homework, I also had some fun. Of course, hard work is important, because I don’t live to work, I’m working to live. Unpacking My Backpack Essentials

This is the last week I have before school starts, and I know because I have been getting emails from professors about assignments they want done by the time we arrive to our first class. It makes me laugh a little, because a week ago my sister and my boyfriend were picking on me when I brought up having summer homework in high school. Now here I am, doing more summer work. Anyway, while every teacher personalizes their own supply list for class, there are some essentials that every student needs to have handy. I thought I would open up my backpack and share mine for today’s blog post before they get packed away.
