As much as I call myself a bookworm, I have only now, at twenty-four years old, pre-ordered my first book ever. I held back from doing it, because there is the part of me that loves to visit the bookstore and to see the book on the shelf before I buy it. But after my first time doing it, I will probably do it all the time now, especially since it’s one of the best way you can support an author you love.

There has been an itch that I have not been able to scratch since this pandemic started, and it was the itch to get out and travel to places. That being said, I was very fortunate that my boyfriend’s family picked to go to Las Vegas for this trip, because there is more to do than just party the night away and then go into gambling debt during the day. I love books, and I actually used to be a real snob about going to the bookstore and owning my books. The thing about library books is that they would never be mine, because I would always have to borrow it and return it. However, I did have a library card, and I still have it to this day. There’s work to be done, and I want to continue to grow as a person by continuing to educate myself and putting action to my words while showing my support. However, Florida has recently become an epicenter for COVID-19, so I’m not sure when the next time I will want to go to the beach will be. This past Christmas, my sister gifted me a copy of To All the Boys I Loved Before by Jenny Han. It was a series that I had been wanting to read for a while, especially since Netflix turned it into a romantic comedy that everyone was instantly obsessed with.
After reading it, I can see why. The sentiment that the book is better than the movie remains true in the case of this book. I found myself laughing and crying as I read.
