Visiting the Oldest City in America

Happy St. Patrick’s Day! I am off to St. Augustine for the day with family as you read this, so I thought I would reflect on my first trip to St. Augustine to celebrate the occasion. While the standard Florida kid went to St. Augustine in fourth grade, I passed on it because money was tight. But it worked out for the better, because I got to take my boyfriend on a surprise date around the city, so keep reading for the highlights of our little getaway.

My Answers to Vogue’s 73 Questions: Part 1

Am I cool enough to be in Vogue? Probably not. Neither am I ambitious enough to answer these questions on camera in one shot because I’m not so great on camera. What I am going to do is answer these questions and give you some more insight into the person that I am, which is probably sunshine in a little nerd. Even though I’ve tried to break it up into consumable chunks, I can’t promise that my answers will be nice and concise, but they should give you some insight into who I am and what matters to me.

My Valentine’s Day Weekend Surprise

We were in bed watching Tayshia’s season of The Bachelorette together. It was one of the few times my boyfriend was going to endure watching terrible television with me. She was on her one-on-one date with Brendan, and they were riding around LaQuinta on horseback. In that moment, I said, “You know, when I was in seventh grade, I asked my parents for horseback riding lessons for my birthday. My dad said yes, but my mom said no because she thought that it was something that boys do and thought that I would get hurt.” I think that’s where he got the idea for my surprise Valentine’s Day date.
