While I typically wouldn’t say that I have style, I can semi-dress myself. I think I started to doubt my fashion recently when my boyfriend made a comment about it (I will unpack that more later). However, I am kind of enjoying the process of unpacking my style and fashion, so I’m probably going to keep doing it (and sharing it here on the blog, of course).
Plus, I think I looked pretty cute, and I’m the one who pulled the look together (with some input here and there). So keep reading if you want to get my look for yourself. Remember, anything that I post is stuff that I buy on my own.

Saying Yes to a Dress…
To clarify, I wasn’t the one getting married, but I knew I wanted to dress to impress because I would be meeting Asanti’s extended family. Taking that into consideration, I wanted something new to wear. Windsor is always the first place I shop online when I want a new dress.
And I’ll be honest. I don’t love paying full price, because I know that a lot of places that I shop will mark down the price at the end of the season. So when I shop at these places, I start with the clearance section and move on from there. To me, it doesn’t matter if it’s out of season, because I have never claimed to be a fashion-forward person. It’s new to me, and if it looks good on me, I will wear it. So I start with the clearance section of the Windsor site and open every dress that I like in its own tab, giving me a lot of options.
Then I asked Asanti’s mom for some details. Was the wedding going to be outside? Would we be on the beach? Is the wedding rustic-farm vibes or super formal? After assessing all of the information, I got rid of the dresses that wouldn’t work, which basically left me with just one option this time around. Good thing I liked my option, because this champagne gold dress was the one I got.
The Gitzy Jewelry
I don’t really own gold jewelry, because I have a preference for silver. However, because of the champagne color of my dress, I wanted gold jewelry for the occasion. I didn’t find a necklace that I liked, so I chose to wear the one that I wear everyday. Since there were silver sparkles on the dress, I don’t think it clashed too badly.
My earrings I bought at Marshalls. I had been deciding between this pair and a butterfly earrings, and settled on this one because I liked the simplicity of the design. The bracelet that I am wearing is a gift, and it is one that I wear everyday now. It’s an Alex and Ani bracelet, but looking at their site, it doesn’t look like they sell it anymore (I talk about it a little bit more in my previous post where you can also see it, “A Wotherwhile Wedding Weekend“).

My Glamourous Shoes
Something about Asanti is that he likes to rag on me for my shoes. I have had the same ones for a few years, throwing out the ones that are completely worn. He thinks I need new shoes, so much that he has bought me some as an anniversary gift. My argument is typically that I like the look of my shoes, and it’s hard for me to find some comfortable ones. But for the special occasion, I let myself go shoe shopping.
In the past, I have found Jessica Simpson shoes to be very comfortable, and I found this pair while shopping at Marshalls. I ended up purchasing them, and they are great shoes if you are constantly moving.

The Look
And that’s it, that’s how I pulled together my look. Would you have done it the same way? Do you think I could’ve done better? Where do you like to shop for your wedding attire? I would love to know in the comments below.
