The Tiny Collection of Things I Bought at Tempe Marketplace

Most people would just call this a “Tempe Marketplace Haul,” but I don’t think I bought enough to call it a haul. Plus, it didn’t take me a lot of effort or force to get it, and it wasn’t stolen or possessed illegally (I’m referencing Google definitions of the word haul). So while the title might be long, I think it is more accurate.

While everyone is out shopping for Black Friday Deals today, I am soaking in time with my family, but I’m definitely going to talk about shopping. During my time in Phoenix, someone I met recommended that I visit Tempe Marketplace while I was in town because it was a quickly developing shopping center. And I decided to go, after I forgot to pack a moisturizer and saw that there was an Ulta in the place. After spending a couple of hours at Tempe Market, just what did I buy?

Marketplace was to get moisturizer for my skin. Phoenix is dessert dry, and I didn't realize that I forgot to pack my moisturizer until I was unpacking at the hotel. It was literally the perfect excuse to go shopping.

TonyMoly: Plump-kin Retinol Eye Patches

When I’m home, one of my favorite ways of treating myself is to give myself the time to put on eye patches in the morning. So why shouldn’t I take advantage of the time that I have on vacation? At home, I use the TonyMoly Moisture Boost Cooling Hydrogel Patches and they would come out of the fridge. When I saw the Plump-kin Retinol ones, I decided to get them because I thought it would be fun and festive since pumpkins are a seasonal item. Plus, I trust the TonyMoly brand to always give me good stuff, and I haven’t been disappointed yet.

While everyone raves about pumpkin spice lattes this season, I am super excited about these Plump-kin Retinol Eye Patches that I got from TonyMoly.

TonyMoly: Peach Punch Sherbet Cleansing Balm

This is another product that I haven’t tried before. The intent of the product is a make-up removing balm, which I thought would be better than the make-up wipes that I normally use because Phoenix is so much more dry than Orlando. I’ve used the Pond’s Cold Cream Cleanser, but I wanted to try this peach one because I knew it would smell better. Something that I use on the regular is the TonyMoly Peach Punch Cleansing Water, so this is a familiar scent to me. That’s also why I felt comfortable splurging on this brand.

While I normally use make-up removing wipes when I travel, the air in Phoenix was so dry that I thought it would be better for me to use this Peach Punch Sherbet Cleansing Balm so that I'm not being too aggressive with my skin while I'm out on vacation.

TonyMoly: Watermelon Dew All Over Serum

Speaking of scents that are familiar to me, this is the product that I went in to get, but I always have this ability to impulse buy when I go to Ulta which is why I got the small collection of things. This serum is one that I use at home, and I love it because it smells like a dessert. Don’t worry, I haven’t ever eaten any of it…As much as I have been tempted, I know better.

This has been a beauty staple of mine since I discovered the product, mostly because I'm obsessed with the smell. This was the main thing I wanted to get when I went shopping, so it lead me to also getting everything else.

OPIxPress/On in I Want It, I Got It

So my typical preference for press-on nails are the imPRESS press-on manicures, but I know that everyone loves the OPI brand. While I remember them collaborating with imPRESS, it seems that they have gone off to create their own press-on nails. Since I wanted to have my nails done nice and pretty while I’m on vacation, I thought I would give these a try. Maybe there will be a review in the future.

Okay, so after trying this product, I'm going to say that it isn't one I recommend. But at least I can say that I tried it, and my opinion is that it isn't the greatest product to keep on for a week (in part because it doesn't really stay).

Bathing Suit

Since I thought the weather would be cold while I’m out here, I didn’t pack any of the millions of bathing suits I own in Florida. That was bad planning on my part, because I saw that they had a pool at the hotel I stayed at in Phoenix, and I wanted to go swimming. I don’t know why, especially since it was cold, and I couldn’t justify buying a bathing suit when I own so many. But I found this one on a clearance rack, and so I let myself get it.

You would think that the Florida girl would have a bathing suit packed and ready to go, but no. I thought it was going to be cold, so even though I really wanted to go swimming, I told myself that I would not be investing in a full-priced bathing suit. This clearance one was perfect, especially since I love the lavender color.

There was so much more that I wanted to get, from cute clothes at H&M to wanting to raid the entire food section at World Market, but I had to maintain my self-control because I’m a graduate student on a budget and I can’t fly back with all of the things I wanted to buy. That’s why the collection of things I bought is so small.

Is there anything else I should’ve done or visited in my time in Phoenix? Where do you like to get your bathing suits from? What skincare company do you trust with your skin? I would love to know in the comments below!
