It’s January, which means that nearly everyone and their mom are either signing up for a gym membership, or they’re unfreezing the one that they bought from the year before. This year, I’ve actually done the reverse–I finally got around to cancelling that gym membership that I never use.
Now, that’s not to say that I am quitting fitness this year, because that would be insane if one of my goals is to be healthy. Plus, as much as I would like to read books and watch TV on the couch all day, I’m currently experiencing some hip problems that become agitated if I don’t move. In addition to that, there are workouts that I enjoy that are a bit more specialized than the general gym (And that currently means I am making a pro-con list on ClassPass).
Since everyone is probably discussing workouts, I thought I would use today’s Friday Favorites to share my favorite workouts. Honestly, if I didn’t like these so much, I probably would just vegetate on a couch to my mind’s content. They either lift my heart or make it work overtime with excitement.
Boxing
While the first time was extremely intense, I was hooked. When you’re in a high-energy room with motivating trainers, you feel like you can kick away the weight of the world. For me, boxing is one of those rare things that can get me out of my head, and that’s why I enjoy it so much.

Aerial Yoga
On the other hand, yoga allows me to delve way too deep into my mind. However, when I saw Janel Parrish post about it on Instagram, I was so intrigued that I had to try it. With how involved it is, I don’t find my mind straying too far off. Plus, while I’m sure I look extra clumsy, I feel as graceful as a ballerina while I am doing it, which brings me to my next point…
Dancing
I’ve always said that my sister got the gene that allowed her to be a graceful dancer who could dance at a competitive level. Watching me, on the other hand, makes her cringe for days because I have none of the skills or training that would lead me to any sort of dance career. From an exercise standpoint, though, this is very fun to do. Zumba classes are fun and intense, and pole dancing makes me connect to my wild side.
Walking Damian
You probably don’t think that walking a dog is very much exercise, but it is when your dog wants to chase every motorcycle and bicycle that passes by us. Compared to the other things, this one is the most low-key, and sometimes I need that. Walking is also just better when you have company. One day, I imagine being one of those suburban ladies that walks with neighbors to catch up on the daily gossip.

What are some of your favorite workouts? Do you have any fitness goals for 2020? Have you tried ClassPass, and what are your thoughts on it?
Thank you so much for reading my blog post, I hope it motivates you to try something new. If you enjoyed it, please like, share, and subscribe knowing that I appreciate every interaction.
