Day 2 in Detroit

So if you haven’t heard, I am in Detroit and blogging my adventures as I go. This is my Day 2 post, and if you haven’t read it, my Day 1 post is up as well. If you haven’t read it, you can go check it out, but if you don’t want to, you can just continue reading about my day 2 right here.

Breakfast

I was super excited, because I love having breakfast/brunch, but the place we went to kind of fell short for me. We went to The Breakfast Club, which Happy said it was one of her faves, but there wasn’t any real flavor to the food for me. I would say that the best part of meal for me was when they brought out the chocolate covered strawberries with our check. I probably would not come back because not only was our food bland, but we had to remind our waiter twice that we needed straws and some lemons for our waters.

More Shopping…

Retail therapy is good for the heart, right? We went to Great Lakes Crossing Outlet, which is the largest indoor outlet in all of Michigan (talk about an oxymoron). I definitely had the impulse to buy more from here, just because you’re getting a fair price on great brands like Kate Spade, Steve Madden, and Michael Kors. Not only that, but my cousins and I spent four hours here and apparently only got through a a third of the mall. Very large place, ideal for the shopaholic.

Movies

Before going to the theater, my cousin Kim wanted to watch Trolls. The new one, with Anna Kendrick and Justin Timberlake. I gotta say, this movie is a bit underrated. Definitely a must if you like children’s movie.

Now, I gotta say that the movie trailers do not do the movie justice. If you have not seen it, I would recommend going to see Wonder Woman. Not just because of female empowerment, because that’s not all this movie was. This movie is about hope, belief, and love.

I went into this movie not expecting to love it. I was expecting it to be centered on the action, and I was expecting that the main conflict would be based on fighting and have no real plot line. However, that does not seem to be the case, because there is a plot present, as well as some humor and a beautiful message to this movie.

I’ll leave you with a beautiful quote from the movie:

“It’s about what you believe. And I believe in love. Only love will truly save the world.”
