At the beginning of the year, I shared a list of things that I wanted to accomplish in 2019 (If you haven’t read it yet, you can click here for a link). One of the things on that list was to get into the habit of Korean skincare, and I’m very happy that I’ve been able to stay on track with this one. Since it’s November, and also National Healthy Skin month, I thought I would share some of my favorite skincare products that I’ve found through this skincare adventure of mine.
Aveeno Positively Radiant Daily Moisturizer
Now, I know this product isn’t exactly a Korean product. But when it comes to healthy skin, everyone will emphasize that SPF is a must. I’ve been using Aveeno since way before this year started, and I would call it a staple of mine. It’s great coverage, and doesn’t leave my skin feeling too oily for my makeup. Plus, Jennifer Aniston is a brand ambassador for the company, and she continues to look timeless.

Tony Moly The Chok Chok Green Tea No-wash Cleansing Water
When I first tried this product out, I started with the peach water, which I loved so much. It was hard to stray and try others. I love the sweet smell of the peach, but the green tea leaves my skin feeling a bit cleaner.
The great thing about this product is that it works very well, even if you’re not using it in a skincare regimen. I know that because once I started using this product, my sisters came and started using it too. My sister Kristina uses it and has since bought her own, because it works well and doesn’t irritate her eczema. Jasmine is too lazy to do more than one step, so this is her only face wash. Plus, the two of them have extra sensitive skin, and this doesn’t irritate their skin at all.

nooni Snowflake Whipping Cleanser
My friend Belinda is obsessed with Korean skincare, and I actually picked this product out from an article she wrote for Her Campus. While Jasmine doesn’t really care about other things she can do for her skin, I think having a cleanser is necessary, especially with the amount of oils my skin produces in a day.
Luckily, I tried this Snowflake Cleanser and loved it from the beginning. There’s no overpowering smell, and it’s not too abrasive, but my skin still feels very clean once I’ve washed it with this. While I have had to try a lot of different products when it comes to what works with my skin, it made me happy that this worked for me from day one.

Tony Moly Panda’s Dream Brightening Eye Base
From experience, I would say that the reason they’ve used a panda to market this product is because I feel like a panda when I use it. With so many nights of all-hours studying, this product has been a lifesaver. I normally apply it onto my eyes before I go to bed, but it can be used in the morning underneath concealer if necessary.

Tony Moly Cat’s Purrfect Night Mask
Out of all the products I’ve listed here, this one is my absolute favorite, mostly because it took me so long to find it. Like my sisters, my skin is also a bit sensitive. With the first couple of moisturizers, I experienced reactions that I didn’t want to have, like itching.
When I first tried the Cat’s Purrfect Night Mask, I was instantly obsessed with it. With a pea-sized amount, I have enough to cover my face and my neck. Not only that, my face feels refreshed and I don’t experience the itching that I do with many other face moisturizers. Out of all the products I’ve listed here, if you only buy one, this should be the one.

Have you tried Korean skincare? What are some of your favorite skincare products? If you’re experiencing skin problems, what are your solutions?
I’m still exploring Korean skincare products, but if I were to pick some of my staples, these would make the list. If I find some better things in the future, maybe I’ll come back and update this. In the case that you try any of these products, be sure to share your opinion with me in the comments, and if you like what you’re reading, go ahead and share this with your friends or sign up to get updates when I post.
Love Always,
Kristi My
